Summary of the August 11, 2011 Meeting at Kieran's

Thanks to all of you who attended the August 11th get-together at Kieran's.  Here's a recap of what happened:

MPR has a new CEO Jon McTaggart/COO David Kansas.  Things are going really well.

Membership numbers up to 127,150.

State funding; $380,000 for FY12-13 for our Greater Minnesota Stations (including maintaining our ability to serve as the backbone to Minnesota’s Emergency Alert/AMBER Alert Systems); New process this year for our Legacy Appropriation.  Rather than receiving a direct appropriation, we need to go through a competitive grants process administered through the Department of Administration.  As a consequence,  won’t know our FY12-13 Legacy appropriation until October 1, 2011.

Assignments for the TC-CAC small working groups are going out.  We encourage you to sign up to volunteer—a great way to really get to know MPR’s role within community.

A draft of the bylaws were circulated with the members to get feedback.  They will be circulated again at the Sept. 15 meeting.  The goal is to have the members vote on them in October at the all-member meeting.

Please remember to let Noelle know if you are going to attend the September meeting.

Thanks,
Angela
